Dr. Sundeep Chaurasia

Title: Breaking Barriers in Long-Acting Injectable Products: Insights into Development, Challenges, Regulatory and Commercialization Success
Dr. Sundeep Chaurasia is currently join as an Associate Professor in Pharmaceutics at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab. Dr. Chaurasia, an experienced pharmaceutical professional with 10+ years experience. Previously, he was worked as a Techno-commercial Scientist-Innovation and Pharma R&D, Complex Injectables/Ophthalmic Formulations at Ashland India (P) Ltd., Hyderabad (Affiliated to Ashland Inc., USA), Mankind Pharma & Virchow Biotech Pvt. Ltd. He has extensive experience with various dosage forms like PLGA/PLA based microspheres technology, depot-steroids injectable suspension, otic suspension, nano-droplets, ophthalmic solution/suspension, lyophilized injectable polyclonal antibodies, di-block polymeric nanopaticles and in-situ forming injectable thermoresponsive PLGA-PEG-PLGA hydrogels and commercialized several products in US & India market. He possesses proven skills to deliver strong R&D performance, lead scalable technology innovations, create winning product portfolios, derive cost control and deliver results within agreed budgets. Moreover, he is also involved in the teaching learning, presentations, reviewer of several international Journals, delivered visiting lecture as resource person & expert speakers in several international conferences, literature search and technical writing skills related to pharma and life sciences education. Dr. Chaurasia has published 31+ papers in peer reviewed research and review publications in international and national journal, five patents (03 Indian, 01 International & 1 to be granted, Indian), two book, four book chapter and presented 35+ research papers (oral & poster) at several International conferences/symposium across the India & Abroad. Dr. Chaurasia received his bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Master's degree in Pharmaceutics from U.P. Technical University, Lucknow and earned DST-INSPIRE Fellowship from Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi, India and joined Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics from Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, India and earned many Awards during his academic and professional career. Dr. Chaurasia received Best Student (Ph.D.) Award from society of pharmaceutical education & research at DIT University, Dehradun, India. He received INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL SUPPORT FOR YOUNG SCIENTIST from Science and Engineering Research Board (A Statuary body of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India), Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi and IIT (BHU), Varanasi for his PhD research paper, presented in International Conference PharmaTech-2014 held at Bangkok, Thailand. Recently, he is appointed as "Review Editor" for Technological and Methodological Advances in Drug Delivery, Frontiers in Drug Delivery Journal 2022.
Prof. Valentina Orlando

Title: Big Data and Outcome Research: Driving Healthcare Policy Towards Better Chronic Care Management
Professor Valentina Orlando is Director of the Center of Drug Utilization and Pharmacoeconomics (CIRFF) at the University of Naples Federico II and Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Naples Federico II. She also serves as Director of the Healthcare DataLab research program, applying big data analytics in healthcare. Her research focuses on drug utilization studies, medication adherence, pharmaceutical legislation, market access, pharmacoeconomics, and health technology assessment. She has led several national and international research projects and authored over 72 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of editorial boards for scientific journals.
Dr. Renyou Gan
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Title: Chinese Tea: From the Chemistry to Health Functions
Dr. GAN, Renyou is currently an Assistant Professor & Presidential Young Scholar at the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong SAR. He received his medical bachelor degree from Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU), China, and Ph.D. degree from the University of Hong Kong (HKU), HK SAR. He was previously an Assistant Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China, a Chief Scientist at the Institute of Urban Agriculture (IUA), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China, a Principal Scientist at Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore.
His research mainly focuses on plant-based foods, food functional ingredients, probiotics, gut microbiome and human nutrition/health. His related work has generated more than 250 SCI publications, including more than 130 papers as the first/corresponding author and 33 ESI highly cited papers (data retrieved from WOS in March 2025). He has also filed more than 30 patents, with 20 of them awarded. According to Google Scholar, his publications have been cited more than 23,000 times, with an H-index of 79. He serves as the editorial board member of several international journals, including Food as Medicine (Editor-in-Chief), iMeta (Executive Associate Editor), iMetaOmics (Executive Editor), Current Research in Biotechnology (Executive Editor), Fermentation (Section Editor-in-Chief), Frontiers in Nutrition (Section Associate Editor), Nutrients/Antioxidants/Foods/npj Science of Food/Discover Food (Editorial Board members).
